No-Charge Cosmetic Consultation
The first step in any cosmetic procedure is to do a full examination of your teeth and mouth and then review with you the different options to give you a beautiful smile. Many cosmetic procedures can be done without cutting or with minimal preparation — and affordably, and yet make a tremendous difference to your smile.
We show you different ways you can improve your smile. We can take pictures of your teeth and — using cosmetic imaging software — manipulate them to show you how your smile would look using different procedures. Sometimes we can give you a "trial smile" by putting tooth-colored material on your teeth to show you what your smile makeover will look like.

Lumineers "Prepless" Veneers
Rapid
Results
Porcelain veneers can correct:
- Spaces between your teeth
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Unsightly, stained or washed-out fillings
- Permanently stained or discolored teeth
- Misshapen or crooked teeth
- Dark, yellow or stained teeth
Lumineers are a type of porcelain veneers that are placed directly over the teeth without grinding the teeth first. As thin as contact lenses, they can be an excellent option if you have sensitive teeth or thin enamel. Unlike regular veneers, lunimeers can be removed and adjusted.
Unlike traditional dental veneers, Lumineers can cover existing dental work like dental crowns or dental implants. If they are appropriate for your smile make-over, Dr. Sun can apply them in just two or three visits.
Lumineers can be used to correct:
- Spaces between your teeth
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Unsightly, stained or washed-out fillings
- Permanently stained or discolored teeth
- Misshapen or crooked teeth
- Dark, yellow or stained teeth
Traditional Veneers or Lumineers?
For some of the above situations, Veneers may be a better solution for you than Lumineers. In many situations, veneers can be longer-lasting and more realistic in appearance. However, lumineers can be applied more quickly and with less discomfort.

Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is a procedure that utilizes a composite resin (tooth-colored material) to cover flaws in your teeth. A thin coating of bonding agent (dental adhesive) is applied to the surface of your tooth. Dr. Sun and Dr. Heidi sculpt, color and shape the material to provide a pleasing result. A high-intensity light hardens the composite material and the surface is finely polished.
What Can Dental Bonding Do?
- Repair chipped or cracked teeth
- Improve the appearance of discolored teeth
- Close spaces between teeth
- Make teeth look longer
- Change the shape of teeth
- Protect a portion of the tooth's root that has been exposed when gums recede
Dental Bonding, Veneers or Crowns?
For some of the above situations, veneers and crowns can be better solutions for cosmetic work than dental bonding. Dental bonding is usually a less expensive solution but does not resist stains as well as crowns or porcelain veneers and is not as strong.

Crowns
A Crown will cap and protect your tooth
A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. They are used to repair broken or fractured teeth, decayed teeth and large or fractured fillings, as well as in the event that the tooth has required a root canal, or for cosmetic enhancement.
Porcelain (tooth colored) crowns are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Empress crowns are very realistic and are a very good choice for crowns in the front of the mouth. Procera porcelain crowns are stronger, but less natural looking, and are a better choice for teeth toward the back of the mouth. At Sun Dental, we use only high-quality, FDA approved porcelain materials for all of our crowns, and do our best to give you a well-matched, long-lasting crown.
Traditionally, crowns have required at least two trips to your dentist, the first to prepare your tooth for the crown and obtain the dimensions needed, and the second to place the permanent crown. However, Sun Dental has invested in revolutionary E4D technology, a laser and computer-driven system which allows us to prepare and install your crown in just one visit.

Return to TopInlays and Onlays
Inlays
and onlays are restorations that are fitted to a cavity in a tooth
and bonded in place. For larger cavities they are stronger and more
durable than a regular filling. They may be used to restore a broken
tooth or may replace an existing large filling. They are used when
the damage is not severe enough to require a crown.
If you have damaged or broken teeth, or potentially need large fillings, inlays and onlays can be a superior alternative to fillings or crowns. We use porcelain inlays and onlays made from a very durable material that has the same color as your natural teeth.
Thanks to advanced E4D technology, Sun Dental can now provide you with needed inlays and onlays in a single visit.

Dental Implants
What is a Dental Implant?
A
dental implant is a tooth that feels and functions like a natural tooth.
It is used where there are missing teeth. It is commonly composed of
a titanium metal screw and a ceramic crown. Not only does a dental
implant fill unsightly gaps in a smile, they are also important to
deter bone loss.
Using Technology for quality, comfortable treatment
To devise the best treatment plan for you, we first complete a medical and dental history and a thorough oral examination, including x-rays.
The placing of the post is performed in our office using a local anesthetic. Depending upon your individual situation, other types of anesthesia may be used to ensure your comfort.
The tooth restoration part of the dental implant (the crown) is made in Dr. Sun's lab using E4D technology (high-quality ceramic restorations) to create a tooth that matches your other teeth in shape and color.
E4D restorations are milled from a single block of high-quality ceramic, a substance which is particularly compatible with the body and has the same characteristics as normal, healthy dental enamel.
Is a Dental Implant right for me?
There are advantages to dental implants. They prevent future bone and tooth loss, are permanently fixed, and won't loosen, and don't place any additional demands on adjacent teeth. Age is not usually a major factor; because successful dental implants have been performed on young people as well as the elderly.
During your initial consultation, we'll help you decide. In general, we look for the following characteristics: general good health, healthy gums, sufficient underlying jawbone to support the implants.
